6th Annual DFW Bassmasters Youth Fishing Tournament

The DFW Bassmasters along with local sponsors are proud to announce our “Youth Fishing Tournament”. The objective of this tournament is to introduce our youth to the sport and recreation of competitive fishing tournaments. This tournament is for youth ages 18 and under. There will be a no entry fee into the park for contestants and their boater. We will run this tournament alongside the Big Bass Bonanza put on by The Optimist Club of Grand Prairie. There will be no entry fee for each contestant.
Prizes and/or trophies will be awarded beginning at 2:15 pm. If you weigh in more than once, we will only use your best fish for final standings.

Safety Rules: All kids under the age of 13 must wear a USCG approved Type I,II,III, or V personal flotation device(PFD) at all times while in boat. All boats must have all the required safety devices. While outboard or inboard motor is running the boat driver must have on PFD and must have kill switch attached.
Fishing rules: This will be a big fish tournament. We will be having weigh-in every hour and the scales open at 15 minutes before each hour. No more than 1 fish per hour shall be brought in. You can wait till the 2:45 to 3:00 hour to bring in your 1 fish if you want. Fishing methods will be casting or trolling. The only species allowed for weigh-in will be Bass, Crappie, and White Bass. The length requirements will be;
Bass= anything 14” or less and 21” or longer
Crappie= 10” minimum length
White Bass= 10” minimum length
Registration will begin on Friday night in the Park or before 10:00 am on Saturday in the Park. Anyone registering for this tournament agrees to abide by the rules. They also agree that neither the DFW Bassmasters, it members, or the volunteers will be held liable for any injury or damage during this tournament.
